Green Data Centre nominated for price
VEAB, district heat and power company in Växjö, Sweden, is nominated for the Global District Energy Climate Awards. VEAB is recognized for its innovative District Cooling Cycle Network,that supply both heat to a football field and cooling to a mall and a data centre. The latter, Green Data Centre, is part of the READY project where innovative solutions for energy efficient renovations and district heating/cooling are being built in Växjö Municipality.
There are four Swedish companies nominated for the prize and they have all developed innovative and sustainable solutions in the energy field. In addition to Växjö Energy, Fortum Värme, Gothenburg Energy and Sinfra are nominated.
By the end of October, the Global Distribution Energy Climate Awards award is awarded for the fifth time. The award award comes from the International Energy Agency (IEA), the United Nations Climate Fund, Euroheat & Power and the International District Energy Association (IDEA). The winners, presented at an international conference in Doha, Qatar, October 24th.
